A Prayer for Discipline

February 11, 2010

Hebrews 12:4-7  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children. My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou are rebuked of Him: for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not.

Why are we as children of God, chastened and/or disciplined? Because is it part of the educational process by which we as believers are fitted to share God’s holiness. It is proof of a genuine love relationship between us and our Heavenly Father. It helps in training us to be obedient. Most importantly, it produces the fruit of righteousness in our lives. Without holiness in life, we cannot see the Lord.

Lord, we ask that you grant us Godly discipline so that your will may be accomplished in our lives. Give us the will and the determination to contend for this Lord. We ask it in Jesus name. Amen.

Minister Kathy Thomas

A Letter of Prayer for Those Who Need Patience

February 9, 2010

To:  The Only Wise God Our Saviour.  To the Hope that won’t let me be ashamed. To the God of every nation, bless His name.

From: Your child, Minister Kathy Thomas

We thank and praise you for your blessings all around us. We humbly ask you, God, to help us with patience; patience with ourselves and others. Forgive us for not waiting; for running out ahead of you trying to fix things that we should leave alone. Holy Ghost help us to be still; to watch and pray. We know that when we are patient we can add hope, and Hope won’t let us be ashamed because the Love of God is shed abroad in our hearts. Thank you for your love, your grace, and your mercy. Help us to be more like Jesus every day.

We ask it in Jesus name, Amen!

In His Service,

Minister Kathy Thomas

Strengthening the Weak

February 8, 2010

Isaiah 35: 3&4  Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble needs. Say to them of a fearful heart, “be strong, fear not.”

Jesus gave a commandment in John 15:12 that we love one another as he loved us. When we love God’s people, we show them, don’t despise the weak; strengthen them. Jesus healed our hurt, now we have to help others. Give hope with words of encouragement and kindness. Many are feeble from age, others from heartbreak. Provide support for them. Validate their disappointment, then move them on with words of life. Be strong, the Bible says, “Fear not.” Help someone in your Christian journey.

In His Service,

Minister Kathy Thomas

Another House

February 5, 2010

I Corinthians 5:1

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens.

It’s wonderful to know that your reservations are honored when you get to your hotel. You’re not worried about the availability of a room because everyone did their job well. The opposite of this can be an endless nightmare. The result being, you have nowhere to go, it may be late, and no one understands how things went wrong.

We live in an earthly house. This house was given to us at birth, and we’re always at home until God tells us it’s time to move. In the new place, we’ve already made reservations. They know we’re coming and it’s impossible to make a mistake at the “front desk.”

We are welcomed by all and comforted beyond measure in the joy of knowing we have arrived. We have another building, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Minister Kathy Thomas

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

February 4, 2010

Blessed be the Lord who gives us life, health, and strength. Thank you, God, for your goodness and mercy to all. Our children and loved ones went out to school and work today, and tonight they were safely returned to our arms. We bless you Savior. We’re happy to say that we serve a great king, a mighty God and nothing is too hard for Him to do.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

In His Service,

Minister Kathy Thomas
